Care instructions & tip
Here you will find our best general tips - detailed maintenance advice and operating instructions can be found under each product description.
Discoloration
Foods such as tomatoes or minced meat can colour silicone products. It is not dangerous, but to avoid discolouration it is a good idea to rinse the product off immediately after use. Here are our best Tips for getting rid of stubborn stains:
- Boil the silicone product for about 10-15 minutes.
- Place the product in the sun.
- Mix 1 part white wine vinegar with 2 parts baking soda, pour over the stain and leave overnight, then rinse.
Smell/taste
Silicone products can sometimes start to smell and absorb scent/flavor from dishwasher detergent.
Then try one of the following tips:
- Boil the silicone product for about 10-15 minutes.
- "Bake" out the scent by placing the silicone product in the oven on 120°C for about 20 minutes. Repeat until the smell has disappeared (should not take more than about 60 minutes). Let cool and then wash the product.
- Squeeze lemon juice onto the silicone product and rub it in. Let it sit for about 20 minutes before rinsing it off.
Suction plug
As with all plates made entirely of silicone, it is difficult to get the suction cup to fit 100%. This is because the material is soft and malleable. A tip is to wet the suction cup before attaching it to the surface, so it will stick best.
